Girl band alert, I know I know...don't worry these girl bands are worth reading about on my little blog. Two bands I've been listening to nonstop are
The Like and
Au Revoir Simone, both girl bands which is not typical for me but I'm in love with them, their lyrics, their voices and their style most importantly. I feel like most girl bands now are still stuck in their scene "I'm so cool" phase but these two bands are way different. Just visit their websites and you'll see... Au Revoir Simone's is full of collages and pictures of them as the background and The Like's is all hand drawn and is amazing.
The Like is consisted of the lovely Tennessee Thomas (bffz with Alexa Chung, who I've made a post about before
here) along with Annie Monroe, Laena Geronimo and Z Berg.

ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong I love LOADS of all boy bands AND all girl bands annnd mixed bands. But being a female musician its kinda offensive to hear that you think most girl bands are stuck in a 'im so cool' scene when the music industry, especially indie is patriarchal :/ and it is SO hard to be taken seriously. Sorry this just hit a bit close to home when usually I love your posts!
Au revoir simone are pretty cool, dreamy sounding. I'm not too convinced about The Like- the drummer is great though.x
I am unfamiliar with their music, although I really love their outfits! Gorrgeous!
