Day dreaming

Today was an eventful day, it started out horrible but ended wonderfully. So big news! I'm going to the Hamptons this weekend for a long weekend with my friends from college. I'm super excited because it's an early birthday celebration for me too, as well as much needed relaxation! I've never been to the Hamptons and I'm hearing it's beautiful so I'm hoping everyone is right. The weather is going to be great too which is a big plus. But I won't be bringing my computer so I'll be gone from Thursday to Monday but I'll be back with many pictures of course!

This is what I wore out today, the shirt and scarf (it has such a cute print, the sun was too bright to see it!) are recent purchases from a local consignment shop, I feel in love with this top because of the polka dots and the peter pan collar! Who wouldn't love it? Also it goes with my "I'm only wearing blue and white to be like Zooey Deschanel" phase I'm going through.

feeding the ducks and swan! :)

Scarf and top; Consignment shop
High waisted jean shorts; Urban Outfitters
Purse; Gucci via my mom
Toms Shoes
Sunnies; Forever 21

Edgy

I've been dreaming and dying for some clothing with scalloped edges. It's such a cute way to make any pair of shorts, skirt or dress a little more girly and a little different. Here are some of my favorites with a scalloped edge

Lucca Couture Shorts from Urban Outfitters
Fontaine Dress by Vain and Vapid from Etsy

Lattice All in 1 Scarf by Craft Me Crazy from Etsy
Kimchi Blue Jumper from Urban Outfitters
Kimchi Blue Jumper from Urban Outfitters
Griffith Scalloped Shorts by Alexandra Grecco from Etsy

Scalloped Mesh Crop Top by Alexandra Grecco from Etsy

Onda Shorts by Instinctual Animal from Etsy

Vintage Crop Jacket from Etsy

Hopefully now that I'm finally starting to work at Zara I can afford the pretty shorts from Urban Outfitters soon!

I love She & Him

Okay readers! It's finally time to tell you all about seeing She & Him and seeing Zooey in real life! Unfortunately it was raining and I had to travel into New York City with my boyfriend, it wasn't the best day to go in, but it was so worth it! We got there an hour before the doors opened and I some how sneaked my way to the front of the line (I guess being small does pay off sometimes!) I was literally maybe two feet max away from the stage, right smack in the middle! Best spots I could have asked for (I was scared I wouldn't be able to see - I always get stuck behind someone tall). BUT She & Him had asked that no pictures, video or audio be taken at all........I was so upset!
....but don't worry readers, I never disappoint! During the 2nd encore (there was three) I whipped out my camera and said **ck it, it's going to be over soon anyway! I sneaked a handful of pictures just for my wonderful readers.

Their opening act was The Chapin Sisters (more about them soon) and then She & Him came on. They played almost both full records (Volume 1 and Volume 2) and even played an M. Ward song, there was not much talking to the audience it was more song playing but it was fine with me, Zooey sounded even better in person and has such an amazing voice! M. Ward is completely insane on the guitar and is awkward in the best way possible.

Sorry I couldn't get better ones, I'm waiting for some to eventually show up online, theres already some from the night before! If I find any I'll post them too!

Here's my one of two purchases from the concert (I also bought the opening acts album)

Cardigan; Zara
Tshirt; She & Him
Shorts; Thrifted
Tights; Target
Boots; Thrifted

Overall Zooey was more amazing than you could ever imagine, and I'll never forget it!

March

So here's a little background on this post, I am obsessed, in love, and idolize Zooey Deschanel. I love her style, her hair, her eyes, her voice! She's amazing... ANYWAYS, I'm sure you all know she's in the band She & Him with M. Ward (one of my most favorite singers), and they have a new album coming out in March so naturally they are going on tour (yay!). I tried and did not succeed with getting pre-sale tickets to the show in NYC, but my wonderful boyfriend woke up when I had class and managed to get tickets when they went on sale to the public! So I am officially seeing my idol, Zooey Deschanel preform with M. Ward on March 30th, as you can tell I'm over excited and crossing my fingers that I can somehow meet her.... (I would cry probably)

so back to my post....
Zooey pictures for you:

She's gorgeous, and has the best clothes!

In other news I want to thank Kelsea from Kelsealaurel for the Best Blog Award! She has a wonderful blog mainly for nail polish colors, she gets the greatest colors!

& Bel from So sweet, So chic, So trendy... for the Creative Blogger award! Bel's blog is adorable and she has the cutest outfits. Thank you both so much, I'm so happy to have all these awards, it means so much to me! Thank you to all my readers, commenters and followers for all your support!

Give me An Education!

I'm shaking with anticipation to see An Education Thursday for my one year anniversary with my boyfriend, I fell in love the minute I found out it took place in London during the 1960's, it was plus for me to find out it was a love story of a teenage girl (played by Carey Mulligan, who reminds me of Audrey Hepburn and Zooey Deschanel) and an older man (Peter Sarsgaard). The costumes are simply amazing, take a look.

I'm sure it's as amazing as I'm hoping, I'll let you all know!

In Style

I recently came across a photoshoot and article about Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordin-Levitt from the new film (500) Days of Summer. I luckily got to see the film early in New York City yesterday and loved it, but I wanted to share the photoshoot from the August 2009 In Style magazine.
In love with the setting;
In love with the clothes;
In love with the people;
In love.
