March

So here's a little background on this post, I am obsessed, in love, and idolize Zooey Deschanel. I love her style, her hair, her eyes, her voice! She's amazing... ANYWAYS, I'm sure you all know she's in the band She & Him with M. Ward (one of my most favorite singers), and they have a new album coming out in March so naturally they are going on tour (yay!). I tried and did not succeed with getting pre-sale tickets to the show in NYC, but my wonderful boyfriend woke up when I had class and managed to get tickets when they went on sale to the public! So I am officially seeing my idol, Zooey Deschanel preform with M. Ward on March 30th, as you can tell I'm over excited and crossing my fingers that I can somehow meet her.... (I would cry probably)

so back to my post....
Zooey pictures for you:

She's gorgeous, and has the best clothes!

In other news I want to thank Kelsea from Kelsealaurel for the Best Blog Award! She has a wonderful blog mainly for nail polish colors, she gets the greatest colors!

& Bel from So sweet, So chic, So trendy... for the Creative Blogger award! Bel's blog is adorable and she has the cutest outfits. Thank you both so much, I'm so happy to have all these awards, it means so much to me! Thank you to all my readers, commenters and followers for all your support!

Home sweet home

So, I'm back in my little dorm room and loving every minute of it! I spent all day laying around and doing nothing to prepare for my classes tomorrow, that start at 8:30 in the morning which I'm not to happy about, but I guess it's okay since both classes I have tomorrow are fashion courses! I'm pretty excited hopefully I'll like them. I've been making some adjustments to the sidebar, I put some tag links so you can go see all my posts with outfits, runway designers/pictures and editorials quickly! & also fixed my links to all my other personal websites like tumblr, twitter, lookbook and chictopia - go to the sidebar if you'd like to see any of them!

I got a chance to take a picture of my "lounge around" outfit for basically doing nothing all day;

forever 21 shirt & headband
urban outfitter high waisted jean shorts
h&m boots

Also I found this wonderful website ArtFire from wishwishwish's guest blogger Sarah, and found my dream item I didn't believe was still in existence!
I'm so excited I'm the proud owner <3

& last but not least the wonderful Jennifer from I'm Just A Girl... gave me an award! Thank you so much girl!

wish me luck at my first classes tomorrow!

A day to myself

Today I traveled into New Hope, PA mainly to "go" with my mom to get her tattoo, yes I said her tattoo, my mom got a tattoo today ha! But I really just went for the free ride to New Hope to do some vintage and thrift shopping, and see the gorgeous Delaware River. It was a bit cold but I had a good time going into all the vintage stores by myself and spending as much time as I wanted in each one basically examining everything.

here's some pictures from my day;

my favorite vintage dress shop, which is a little out of my price range had a wreath decorated with Audrey Hepburn pictures! I basically died...

I was sneaky and got a picture of one of the displays in the store, gorgeous - I know.

I went home with a lovely black velvet short cape from my favorite vintage shop Nightbird, I plan on adding a button and chain to it since it comes with nothing to keep it on, I'll show you what it looks like soon!

Also just thought I'd share my excitment about Polaroids coming back into my life soon, they are making new cameras and coming out with more film - YAY. Although I'm not a Lady Gaga fan, so I'm not thrilled she's the new creative director for Polaroid, but whatever gets them going again!
Heres some prototypes for the new cameras
I love the black and wood one, I can't wait!

and last but not least, I finally purchased lipstick yesterday, I feel like an adult in lipstick and never wore it before but I've become sightly in love with it, here's quick pictures I took in my two new shades. My hair color looks horrible with the shades, but I'm dying it back to my real color (dark brown, basically black) (- it's red in these pictures, you can't even tell though) on friday so I should look wonderful when it's done!

tomorrow, Passion Pit in NYC, so excited!

DIY while sick

Even though I was sick today, I went to Michael's to get some crafts for my "sick" day, by the way...it's FREEZING outside.

My mission this break was to make my room look nicer, well really only because Cellardoor Magazine had asked for some pictures of my room for their online magazine, so I needed to make my room presentable again! You can become a fan of them on Facebook, and see their recent issue of the magazine here. I'll let you guys know when my room makes it's first debut!

I made a cupcake wrapper garland -

I also redid my wall with pictures, and finally put butterflies I had found in my grandmothers thrift store in a shadow box, they look beautiful! -

I hung some of my polaroids with ribbon from lights I put around my windows -

and finally did the eyelash t-shirt I had talked about doing awhile ago, I think it came out really well. It's sparkly in person!

I would say my sick day was pretty successful!
pictures of my new year's eve outfit soon I promise!

oh, and thank you to Emily from Neutral Tuesday for the Haute Mess award! I'm supposed to say seven things about myself;
1. I'm obsessed/in love with polaroid pictures, I have hundreds and recently got a tattoo of a polaroid on my arm
2. I would die to meet Twiggy or Mary Kate Olsen...like really die
3. My goal is to become a stylist, and the show Styl'd on MTV is what I want my life to be
4. My little sister is one of my best friends
5. I can't wait to have my own apartment just so I can decorate everything from thrift stores
6. I love my dog Crystal
7. I hate when people whistle in general, in the car and especially to songs they don't know.

THE Stephen Sprouse

For Christmas I received "The Stephen Sprouse Book", now I'm not going to lie I am not too familiar with him, maybe heard of him once or twice, but I'm always up to learning new things about fashion designers of course. My mom had found out about this book when she was reading my Teen Vogue Handbook, "I always have reference books around. This book on Stephen Sprouse is a must read for anyone aspiring to work in fashion." -Amy Astley, so my mom decided I should have it, good choice mom!

As soon as I looked at the book I knew I was going to enjoy it, how can you not - it comes in four different colors all of which are neon, with a metallic silver cover and pages sprayed neon it definitely catches your attention.
Most of the book is pictures either Sprouse himself took - mostly polaroids (which is another big plus for me), pictures of his collections, sketches or pictures of him with Debbie Harry, model Teri Toye, ANDY WARHOL, and more! I was completely inspired by reading his story and how he was basically the Andy Warhol of the 80s, taking Andy's prints and paintings and being the only one allowed to make fabrics off of them. Creating the "head-to-toe" look of one pattern down the whole body, or one color (which is very 60s mod in my opinion). There is a certain edge to Stephen that is completely different then everything I have exposed myself too before - I loved learning about him and where his inspiration came from - mainly Debbie Harry, Edie Sedgwick, Jim Morrison, and Andy Warhol. The book is filled with quotes from close friends and family as well as others in the business like Marc Jacobs (ah). Marc loved Stephen's work and eventually got stephen to collaborate with him for Louis Vuitton's 2000 collection. I know this is mostly ramble but there is too much in the book to talk about! Definatley go check it out if you can, it's amazing!
