Golden Globes 2011

I can't help but make the usual Golden Globes judging the dresses post, these posts are one of my favorites to do. I love red carpet gowns.

Michelle Williams in Valentio - thats the most fun dress on the carpet this year, and she totally pulls it off.

Mila Kunis in Vera Wang - all I have to say is details.

Emma Stone in Calvin Klein - I really dislike Emma Stone, but that dress was so simple, and chic!
Anne Hathaway in Van Cleef & Arpels - those shoulders and that fabric

Jayma Mays in Alberta Ferretti - that neckline is to die for.
January Jones in Versace - I don't even like that dress, but she looks so good. I couldn't help but put her in here.

and my two favorite men: Andrew Garfield in Emporio Armani and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Prada

Living in style

Okay bloggers, I have lots of stories for you from today! My mother and I visited a second cousin today in New York City, I was in awe of her apartment because she lives on the corner of West 86th Street, right next to Central Park and right down the street from The Met. I was in love in seconds of walking into the apartment. It was gorgeous, and above all this, my cousin knows lots and lots about fashion, textiles, and art. She took me around to some wonderful secondhand shops with all designer labels.

This means I touched:
A vintage Chanel tweed suit, Zac Posen dress, Valentino dresses, YSL jackets, Chole dresses, and so so much more. I was dying and going to heaven everytime I touched a different piece of clothing. The workmanship of these pieces was unbelievable. The fabric was so wonderful, the buttons were heavy and sturdy. It really is worth the money. Even though a leather Chanel dress was marked down from $6,000 to around $1,000 of course it was still wayyyyyyyy out of my price range. But once I get a real job, I will go back and splurge...eventually.

Allan & Suzi is on the West side of Central Park, this shop requires a door bell to be rung to walk in, has such wonderful displays of not only vintage designer but newer designer clothing. The store itself is small but is packed with wonderful clothing, it's pricey but I thought it was the most moderately priced out of the three stores I went to. I'm hoping to take my fashion club here, and you should visit too!

The other two secondhand stores I went to on the East side of Central Park were Roundabout (ask me if you want the address) which is a new and resale couture shop, that had more of an organized selection of clothing all designer, and all fabulous. & A Second Chance, this store was more of an accessories store. There were shelves and shelves of Chanel and Louis Vuitton purses (I was dying) and tons of Chanel jewelry, including the classic pearls. I was really in love, but again everything was way out of my price range.
Definitely go check all these stores out if you have the chance, they are wonderful!

tomorrow I'll show you what I wore for the day!
