Trend Forecasting: Mixing Prints

Once again the trend of mixing patterns has been brought to my attention. Still I do not know or think I can pull this trend off very easily, I'm not big on buying things with patterns, but I think I need to start for summer. The look is so perfect for the hot weather with light airy prints.

Thanks to the editorial Seeing is Believing March US ELLE I have found more inspiration on how to mix patterns and colors
Model: Egle Tvirbutaite
Photographer: Max Farago

have you tried this trend?

When I was younger I was told that mixing prints was just about as bad as wearing black+brown. Now I do both, and I think they both can work very well!

I actually like to mix patterns when I can (like in my latest outfit). I think the summertime is an especially good time to try this trend out, too.

I'm trying to do this slowly...first by mixing striped scarves with floral print dress - or striped shoes with print, etc etc. working my way up! i love the way tieka from selective potential does this. shes a pro!

I want to try this, but I haven't gotten the courage yet. I think stripes with animal print would be easy to try and less intimidating! :)

I love mixing prints. I mostly mix different plaids... Speaking of mixing prints, do you remember that kids' song "Polka dots, checks, and stripes?" Just me?

Yes! I love mixing prints! I think I might actually do a post on this one day. It's actually my favourite look.

Basically, 3/4 of my wardrobe is patterned. It's not a trend--it's a way of life. Haha. I love this editorial.

I was very afraid of this trend. my initial feeling was that girls everywhere would be walking about looking like clowns. But, I was brave and tried it yesterday. But it what was probably the most subbtle attempt. I will be doing an outfit post this weekend because I did not have time to photography myself yesterday. I wore a blue and white stripped top (vertical stripes) with black jeans and floral print heels. I really loved it and keeping the patterns away from one and other was a safe choice for me. Maybe start out simple and then move onto the full on pattern bonanza.
Best Wishes,
Alix

I'm not really a fan of this trend, strangely enough. Granted, it looks remarkably effective in a magazine spread, but I think it translates over to real-life in much smaller doses.

...Or maybe I'm just too conventional???

I can't abide the mitchy-matchy look. Clashing prints and textures are the way to go. Great post, as always!

this is the only trend that I'm so hesitant and unsure to try!!! I usually dress pretty simple and so if there is a print/pattern, it's contrasted with a solid or usually black. I dunno! How do you feel about it?

From freezing to the windshield to wiping away all the stuff thrown at it from that semi in front of you. Manatees are gentle, plant-eating herbivores sometimes nicknamed "sea cows". A few weeks later while visiting my parents, I snuck out of bed under the cover of night and scrolled through Netflix until I found Full Metal Alchemist.
