Picture Sunday: I'm sorry I was MIA

I apologize for being MIA lately, this isn't like me but this past week has been crazy! As I mentioned in my last post I got the chance to go to LIM and guest speaking in a high school styling course there with my professor from my FIT styling course. It was a great experience, I felt like a teacher! haha! I was so excited to share my experience with the kids and answer questions. I also got some great (promising) news, which I can't share here because I don't want to jinx it, so if everything goes the way I HOPE it will, you guys will know soon. So hang in there!

A Picture Sunday for you guys that miss it!

Back with a big exciting post tomorrow!

My. Life. Behind the scenes

I'm back with behind the scenes looks at my photo shoot with FIT and Michael Creagh. Not much explanation to these, but they are so fun to see! I'm excited to say that I was asked to guest speak in a celebrity styling course at LIM on my experience with the photo shoot. This is a huge deal for me and such a complement, I'm so honored and thrilled my professor asked me! I can't wait and I'll let you guys know how it goes after of course!

My. Life.

The pictures from the photo shoot I did with my FIT Styling course were put up today and I can not be more thrilled with all the pictures and how they came out. We had an amazing photographer Michael Creagh, he was very professional and helped so much with my group's whole idea and focus. We ended up changing most of our ideas, but I believe it was for the better because the pictures turned out perfectly.

Again, our shoot was based on it being in American Vogue, so we were focused on having the styling be sophisticated, classy, clean. We didn't use a lot of accessories and our clothes we picked from Blanc De Chine were very Vogue like, so perfect. The only thing I wish is that we could have gone on location for the shoot, everything would have looked even better a perfect location.

Je conçois

Surprise, I'm alive! Many of you don't know but right now I'm attending a Styling seminar at FIT learning amazing insight in to the world I will soon be in. I'm have the best experience of my life at this seminar, meeting people from around the word literally (Brazil, the Netherlands, Australia, Mexico, Japan and more!), learning, getting tips from my great and very experienced professors and I'm doing hands on activities on top of all that, getting to listen to key speakers and we got the opportunity to visit the MAC Pro studios. I can not talk highly enough about it.

Our main activity for the three days is creating a real photo shoot and styling it in a group, my group was assigned to do an editorial photo shoot as if it was going to be in American Vogue (which for me was easy! the rest of my group had to do a little research). We have a real fashion photographer (which I'll talk more about after the class is over!) and real models. We pulled clothes today from a gorgeous couture store in New York City called Blanc de Chine, although it's not my personal style the clothes were amazing and the fabric used was to die for! It was so much fun pulling clothes knowing that they will be in a real photo shoot that I'm helping style. The clothes my group pulled were gorgeous but I don't want to ruin it, you'll have to wait to see the photos after!

I'm going to leave with you an editorial from the July 2010 American Vogue that really inspired my whole group in which direction to go in when pulling outfits for our shoot, also we really loved the make up and hair styling done in this shoot as well.
