13 years of waiting

Yesterday I went to the Shout It Out Hanson tour, as you all know I was really excited even though it was my second time seeing them. This time was way better - front row for the concert, right in front of Taylor's face all night AND I MET TAYLOR AND ISSAC. I know some of you liked them when you were younger, this was like a 7 year old me dream come true, I'm still so happy obviously! I even got a picture with Taylor (one of the only people that did hehe). They really put on a great show too, I had so much fun.

Panic attack kind of day

Like I said in my last post, I went to the city again yesterday, for more news I don't want to say here yet. I'm sorry for keeping you all hanging, I'm sure you could guess some of it though just by the way I'm dressing! I didn't have time to take pictures outside but I couldn't help but show off this gorgeous dress from the Forever 21 in Times Square I was talking about! The stitching detail is wonderful, and so is the fabric. I love the zipper the most.

Surprise! The soles of my heels match my dress, this was not intentional but I love it anyways. Good job Christian Siriano for foreseeing that I was going to wear a turquoise dress with your heels one day.

Prada Fantasy

The Prada Fantasy Lookbooks never seize to amaze me every season, for fall 2010 it is no different, the contrast of real photographs (by Phillip Meech) and illustrations (by Alexander Reichert and Fausto Fantinuoli) is gorgeous, and so are the colors.

Dressed Up Occasion

I went to New York City today for yet another exciting event, although I don't want to share about it just yet! I walked around Columbus Circle, ate and finally visited the new Forever 21 in Times Square which was gorgeous (of course) but too filled with people. I managed to find the perfect dress for an event I have coming up, so I guess it was a success even though I was there for less than 20 minutes! haha, I'm such a speedy shopper.

I'm off to Long Beach Island in NJ for the rest of the week with my family, I'll be back soon enough with pictures from the week! Have a good week bloggers!

Morris Museum: The Shoe ...must go on!

I was asked a month ago to visit by the Morris Museum to cover their amazing exhibit called The Shoe ...must go on. I must admit I was so excited to visit the museum and check out all the shoes but I didn't know what to expect. Well, they had shoes from all time periods, all styles, all genders, all jobs. It was great to see so many amazing shoes in one room! Since I can't show you everything I've narrowed down my favorites to show you!

First, the shoes that are showcased in the beginning of the exhibit, which deserve they're own box and focus. How gorgeous are they?! These shoes are made by Marina Dempster from Toronto. They are actually considered art, which they should be and they are called Immune. Marina used mixed media, bee wax, beads, yarn, recycled rabbit fur, porcupine quills, macaw & flamingo feathers which were all donated by the Toronto Zoo! But really...wouldn't you guys love to wear those around for a night? So eye catching and such a conversation starter!

So, these are Martha Washington's shoes! I'm in love with these, even if the color is gone and they look worn. Her feet were so small right? I love the applique in the front, so lady like, and the little tiny kitten heel is adorable.
These three in the front are all wedding shoes, which I would totally wear for my wedding now! I'm in love with the flower like applique on the front of the shoe, they remind me of ballet slippers which make them even prettier to me.
These were probably my favorite out of the whole exhibit, the ones on the left are from the 1950's and are made with the accent of blue leather designed to look like it's continuing from one shoe to the other, and the ones on the right are from the 1940s and are made of ecru lineon, decorated with brown leather dots (notice the scalloped edge! so cute and so perfect for the scallop summer trend!)
Of course the exhibit could not be without the iconic Salvatore Ferragamo flats with the bow that we see millions of bloggers wearing, I'm trying to get my hands on a navy pair right now actually! You can't go wrong with these classic gorgeous shoes.
These were all showcased for their heels, so many different types were around, including convertiable heels, interchangeable heels and all these pictured above.
Bloomingdales actually lent the museum a collection of designer heels which included these great (my favorite) Marc by Marc Jacob mouse flats!
There was a great section of boots from different eras, Go-Go included! But look at those fishnet stockings, you can't tell but those are actually boots! The foot part has a hard clear shoe in it! So crazy!!

And a special treat was at the end of the exhibit, these gorgeous shoes were made out of chocolate!

The museum was also filled with men's shoes, shoes worn for different sports, shoes worn for different jobs and so much more, if you are in the NJ area I would totally suggest visiting! I even walked out with a little treat for myself - their gift shop has wonderful collectables and books in it.

Thank you again Morristown Museum and Sue for contacting me! I had so much fun.
If anyone in the NJ area is interested in going visit here for details, the exhibit is running until the end of August, following is going to be another exhibit called Icons of Costume: Hollywood's Golden Era, which looks like it's going to be amazing as well!

Picture Sunday: I'm sorry I was MIA

I apologize for being MIA lately, this isn't like me but this past week has been crazy! As I mentioned in my last post I got the chance to go to LIM and guest speaking in a high school styling course there with my professor from my FIT styling course. It was a great experience, I felt like a teacher! haha! I was so excited to share my experience with the kids and answer questions. I also got some great (promising) news, which I can't share here because I don't want to jinx it, so if everything goes the way I HOPE it will, you guys will know soon. So hang in there!

A Picture Sunday for you guys that miss it!

Back with a big exciting post tomorrow!
